Waste Not Regret Not

Imagine a plastic bottle, all crumpled and dirty, with flies hovering over it, lying on the carpet in your living room.

Hectares full of such bottles and every other kind of waste imaginable, both degradable and non-degradable, are lying outside every metro city in India. The dumping ground outside Mumbai is practically a multi-storied vision of a wasted world that is coming our way….a frightening view.

Waste Management is our only hope of avoiding that bleak future.

Little by little, by bits and pieces accumulated from every home, does the calamity of un managed waste grow. So it is in managing the bits from every home that it can be countered.

Segregation of waste into categories has a further advantage of allowing us to recycle and reuse whatever can be reused or remade into other things of utility.

Waste management is about sustainability. Something that we hold to be of paramount importance at Nanded City, Pune. Which is why we had our state of the art Waste Management System installed?

Our system helps us recycle solid waste, and we take extra effort to recycle non-degradable waste through our vendors. We even put the manure produced from composting garden waste & domestic biodegradable waste to use for landscape development.

We do all this to take care of the waste that comes out of our homes today, so we may continue to live in green homes tomorrow.

Natures Living Room

At Nanded City Pune, you come home to nature’s own living room.

When it comes to the idea of Green Living, we are a city unlike any other.

We did more than just arrange for greenery around the houses that we built. We planted homes amidst an unfurling saga of unbound natural bliss. Of the 700 acres of NandedCity Pune, 230 acres are allotted to an Eco Park, and lavish landscaped greenery.

Apart from the numerous walk ways that also double up as cycling tracks for enthusiasts, Nanded City Pune boasts of many exclusive and unique green features that stand out, such as gardens in the neighbourhood, streams and over 13200 trees that presently stand on the premises. Planting trees is an ongoing practice at Nanded City Pune; specifically on occasions such as World Environment Day, the residents all join in to plant saplings.

A stream flows through the Eco Park at NandedCity.

This is a scenic, picnic spot located on campus that has many indigenous trees.

As a special Natural Conservation initiative, we took special care to prevent soil erosion at Nanded City Pune and installed Gabion walls and Gabion mattresses.

All in all, Nanded City Pune is a home to nature as much as it is a home amidst nature…

A High five for Pune

So, you think it’s all in Mumbai? [Okay, you aren’t that wrong] But here are five reasons to consider if Pune is a smarter pick…

1. It’s literally a cool city.

The weather is good in Pune. Period. Sultry days are from elsewhere. Here it’s about balmy afternoons.

2. The Traffic

Traffic in Pune is pretty decent, really. You won’t find the madcap rush of Mumbai here. Not like you’re going to miss it, right?

3. The Cost

Living in Pune is way cheaper than in Mumbai. Just tally the rents and you’ll know.

4. The Crowd

Pune is not known as the Cultural Capital of Maharashtra for nothing. Plus, in the recent years, Pune has risen to host some of the most crowd pulling cultural events in country, and attracted a most happening crowd every time.

5. The Places

While natural beauty abounds in Pune, Pune is also a gateway to a number of weekend and holiday destinations, most of them hill stations too.

World Cities Day

Paths will lead to Pune…

There was a time when they said all paths lead to Rome.

It is a mark of a great city that it attracts the very bests from far and wide, and in time, in its own alchemy, evokes unity out of diversity. It has been the dream of every civilization to build such great cities that would stand proud and glorified as eras wash past.

On the eve of World Cities Day 2015, the UN brings to us this message: Better City, better life; designed to live together. The crux of the message is clear: while planned cities hold the key to the future that the world aspires to claim for itself, rapid and mindless urbanization will not serve us well.

This is why, all over the world, the demand for futuristic and environmentally sensitive urbanization is increasing.

In India, too, the impetus is now on the development of futuristic habitats where nature can thrive in unison with urban construction. We must not let the City destroy nature, for nature protects us.

We know we must put the era of the concrete jungle behind us and move towards a future of greener, cleaner and healthier urban living.

This World Cities Day, we wish such a future for Pune.
